COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The National Federation of Independent Business/Ohio applauded a recent decision by the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation to reduce overall rates by 5 percent next year. The rate reduction, which will take effect on July 1, was unanimously approved by the BWC Board of Directors late last week and is the first rate reduction for private companies since 2001.
"This rate reduction represents the kind of relief that Ohio's employers need to continue to fuel our economy and create new jobs in our state," said Roger R. Geiger, vice president/executive director of NFIB/Ohio. "This is an important and necessary step toward creating a business climate in Ohio that welcomes growth and encourages job creation."
