Nation's leading small business group supports lawmakers who are "standing up for small business"

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The political action committee of the National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's leading small business group, today announced a roster of candidates in Ohio for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives. NFIB supports candidates who have pro-small business voting records and are strong advocates for small business owners.

NFIB endorsed the following U.S. Representatives:

1st District, Steve Chabot 4th District, Jim Jordan
2nd District, Jean Schmidt 5th District, Bob Latta
3rd District, Mike Turner 12th District, Pat Tiberi

"Ohio's small business owners are fortunate to have such strong representation championing their issues in the U.S. House," said Lisa Goeas, NFIB's vice president, political. "These congressional leaders are standing up for small business and have consistently voted for lower taxes, affordable and accessible health care and less regulation. They understand that a growing economy starts with Ohio's job creators, and they know a one-size-fits-all economic policy can hurt small businesses. We offer our strong support and look forward to working with them on small business issues in the 111th Congress."

All the endorsed incumbents have 100 percent voting records on key NFIB issues in the current Congress. In addition, Reps. Chabot, Turner and Tiberi have been winners of the Guardian of Small Business award for similar pro-small business voting records in previous terms.

Today's endorsements come from the NFIB SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, the organization's political action committee. The endorsements bring the considerable grassroots support of Ohio's small business owners to these campaigns. NFIB will encourage its members throughout Ohio to work on behalf of these congressional incumbents and to help turn out the influential small business voting bloc on Election Day. According to NFIB polling data, small business owners and their employees make up 43 percent of registered voters in America.

NFIB has been ranked the most influential business-lobbying organization in the country by Fortune magazine all four years the magazine has conducted its survey.
