WASHINGTON, D.C.--The political action committee of the National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's leading small business group, today announced its endorsement of U.S Rep. John Boehner for reelection in Ohio's 8th Congressional District. NFIB supports candidates who have pro-small business voting records and are strong advocates for small business owners.

"Small business has no greater supporter in the U.S. House than Rep. John Boehner," said Lisa Goeas, NFIB's vice president, political. "He has been a steadfast champion since coming to Congress in 1990. We are pleased to offer our endorsement and look forward to continuing to work with him on small business issues in the 111th Congress.”

Boehner, who serves as minority leader in the House, has earned the Guardian of Small Business award in every Congress in which he has served, and currently has a 100 percent voting record on key NFIB issues in the 110th Congress. As minority leader, he played a pivotal role in the economic stimulus debate, working hard to make sure that expanded small business expensing was included in the final measure. During his tenure as chairman of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, he was crucial in garnering support for small business health plans, and he continues to be a leader in solving the healthcare crisis for small business.

Today's endorsement comes from the NFIB SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, the organization's political action committee. The endorsement brings the considerable grassroots support of small business owners, and NFIB will encourage its members throughout the district to work on behalf of Rep. Boehner's campaign and to help turn out the influential small business voting bloc on Election Day. According to NFIB polling data, small business owners and their employees make up 43 percent of registered voters in America.

NFIB has been ranked the most influential business-lobbying organization in the country by Fortune magazine all four years the magazine has conducted its survey.

NFIB is the nation's leading small business association, with offices in Washington, D.C., and all 50 state capitals. Founded in 1943 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, NFIB gives small and independent business owners a voice in shaping the public policy issues that affect their business. NFIB's powerful network of grassroots activists send their views directly to state and federal lawmakers through our unique member-only ballot, thus playing a critical role in supporting America's free enterprise system. NFIB's mission is to promote and protect the right of our members to own, operate and grow their businesses. More information about NFIB is available online at www.NFIB.com.
