Eau Claire-area small business owner will help oversee regulatory impact
MADISON, Wis. -- The National Federation of Independent Business/Wisconsin announced that longtime member Guy Wood, owner of Tender Care Transport in Chippewa Falls, has been appointed by Gov. Jim Doyle to serve on the state's Small Business Regulatory Review Board. The Board consists of six representatives from the small business sector, eight state agency representatives and one representative from the state senate and assembly. Its members are charged with ensuring that rules proposed by state agencies comply with the Regulatory Flexibility Act, particularly when the proposed rule would have a significant impact on small businesses.
"Guy is a perfect choice for the Small Business Regulatory Review Board," said NFIB/Wisconsin State Director Bill G. Smith. "Guy is familiar with how the regulatory process impacts small employers, and his interaction with employers through his involvement with NFIB makes him a great fit for the Review Board. We are very pleased with Guy's appointment and are confident he will make a tremendous advocate for his fellow small business owners."
Tender Care Transport provides non-emergency medical transport in West/Central Wisconsin. The company's 53 employees operate a fleet of 34 vehicles.
