During the special session, the Maryland General Assembly passed and the governor signed legislation that expands the sales tax to computer services. The tax is scheduled to take effect July 1, 2008, and is projected to raise over $220 million in new revenue; 80 percent of which is expected to be paid by small business owners.
What will this cost your business?
This comes at a time when small businesses are facing ever-increasing costs for health insurance, energy costs and labor cost.
"Should Maryland's small business owners be required to pay a new tax on computer services?"
If your answer is no, then join NFIB in supporting the repeal of the computer service tax.
