Utah Small-Business Owners Gather for Small-Business Day at the Capitol
02/15/2008

On Feb. 11, NFIB/Utah held its third annual Small-Business Day at the Capitol. We were pleased by the number of members who attended to hear Jason Perry address the group on economic development in Utah and to engage in a healthy discussion of the small-business issues facing the Utah Legislature this session (see Legislative Tracking Sheet below). Many of those in attendance also remarked positively on their impressions of the Capitol and viewing the sessions in progress.

To cap off the program, our members had the opportunity to rub elbows with about 50 legislators over lunch. NFIB/Utah State Director Candace Daly presented Mark Lewon's 2007 Small-Business Champion plaque and promoted nominations for this year's award. She honored our eight member-legislators, recognized our Leadership Council -- thanking them for their service -- and welcomed many new members to the team.
