Voters Head to the Polls for Super Tuesday
02/05/2008

Voters in 23 states will head to the ballot box today for Super Tuesday, casting votes in the 2008 presidential primaries. Super Tuesday might be a decisive day for both parties: Though many had predicted the presidential nominations would have already been decided, no candidate yet has a lock on the delegates needed to become the party nominee.

With Rudy Giuliani and John Edwards out, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul remain in the race for the Republican nomination, and Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are still contending for the Democratic nod. Hundreds of delegates are up for grabs in both major parties today, but some pundits are predicting that with no clear nominee will emerge. Candidates may continue seeking delegates for months to come. Democrats will send their delegates to their national convention in Denver, Colo., Aug. 25-28, and Republicans gather in St. Paul, Minn., Sept. 1-4.

The election season finds our country at a turning point, with top issues like the economy, taxes, health care and immigration weighing on the minds of voters. Now more than ever it is important for small business to be heard at the ballot box, so if you are registered to vote in one of the states participating in Super Tuesday, find your polling place and be heard.
