(left to right) NFIB/Pennsylvania Intern Matt Hess, Assistant State Director Gwenn Dando, and State Director Kevin Shivers prepare care package for Pennsylvania troops in Iraq. |
NFIB/Pennsylvania members and staff this week shipped a package of holiday cheer to Pennsylvania servicemen and women stationed in Iraq.
"It's a small token of appreciation for the men and women who stand guard to defend our freedom," said NFIB/Pennsylvania State Director Kevin Shivers. "Hopefully it will reinforce to them that there are Americans here at home who appreciate every sacrifice they and their families make to protect us, to defend freedom and our way of life."
NFIB members and staff delivered books, DVDs, snacks, playing cards, puzzles, and personal items such as lip balm, sunscreen and bug spray that soldiers can use while out on patrol.
NFIB/Pennsylvania Leadership Council members Joni Paladino (Jefferson County), Doug Henry (Lebanon County), Donna Partin (Cumberland County) and Rich Gallo (Indiana) coordinated the donation efforts. NFIB staff including Shivers, Gwenn Dando, Charlie Jones and Carol Koppenhaver also gave generously to make the effort a success.
