Wes Miller of Miller Insurance Agency and Mark Sincavage of Sincavage Corporation were recently honored with an award in recognition of their longtime service to the small-business community through the NFIB/Pennsylvania Leadership Council.
Miller has been an NFIB member for more than 20 years and served as the chair of the Leadership Council from 2001-2002. Miller also has been active in his community. He served as a board trustee member of Mount Nittany Medical Center from 1993-2005 and was chairman for seven of those years. From 1993-2000, he served as chair of the Gregg Township Sewer Authority where he helped design, fund and construct sewer collection for Gregg Township. In 2002, he and several business leaders founded the Penns Valley Business Network, an organization that organizes and promotes business in the community. Since 2003, he has been vice president of operations for the Juniata Valley Boy Scouts of America.
Sincavage has been an NFIB member for over 30 years, serving on the Leadership Council since 1997 and was NFIB/Pennsylvania Leadership Council chair from 2003-2004. Sincavage is a charter member of the NFIB Free Enterprise Scholars Program and annually sponsors a $1,000 entrepreneurial scholarship in his parents' memory for local high-school seniors. He is also a founding member of NFIB's Legal Foundation.
The mission of the NFIB/Pennsylvania Leadership Council is to create public awareness of the benefits of the free enterprise system and to demonstrate how government legislation and regulations affect public interest. The Leadership Council fulfills this mission by serving as a leadership group for interaction with public policy makers and by activating and continually educating members on how to become politically involved. The Leadership Council also acts as a resource to the NFIB staff in their efforts to advance our mission as the guardian of small business.
