Not surprisingly, many Mississippians have grown weary of slick political ads and "down home" Mississippi talk.
Small-business owners and their employees are certainly among this group. It's with a discerning eye that they're watching the four major statewide races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and insurance commissioner. When you hear a candidate talking about economic development or luring a large business plant it's always wise to see where they side on the issues that matter to our future -- like tort reform. Without tort reform, Toyota would not be in Mississippi.
Members of the National Federation of Independent Business in Mississippi are clear as the blue sky about where they stand in the four contests. NFIB/Mississippi's SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust recently endorsed Haley Barbour for governor, Phil Bryant for lieutenant governor, Al Hopkins for attorney general and Mike Chaney for insurance commissioner, and we are running radio ads in your area to promote their endorsements.
