House Tax Vote Fails
Wednesday, Sept. 12, 1:45 p.m.
Just minutes ago, the Michigan House adjourned for the day after a failed attempt to get enough votes to pass an income-tax hike and a ballot proposal to allow voters to raise the sales tax as an alternative to the income tax.
The vote on Joint Resolution X was stopped short and the voting board cleared when it became apparent that were not enough votes (Democrat or Republican) to pass the measure.
The House is expected to continue debate on tax increases on Friday, Sept. 14.
Urge your lawmakers to vote NO on a sales tax on services!
