JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The National Federation of Independent Business, America's leading small-business advocacy group, today announced Glenn and Rhoda Reeves of Cape Girardeau its 2007 "Small-Business Champion of the Year" for the state of Missouri. Each year, NFIB recognizes a small-business owner in each of the 50 states with the "Small-Business Champion" award recognizing their achievements in business and their outstanding support of entrepreneurship.
Started by Rhoda in 1981, Horizon Screen Printing offers textile printing encompassing a wide variety of mediums. With an in-house design studio, they offer custom signs, decals, and banners as well as printing and embroidery of promotional products, continually applying new technology and focus on the latest trends in the industry. Glenn joined Horizon Screen Printing as vice president in 1986. In addition to Horizon Screen Printing, Glenn is president of Horizon Promotional Products, Inc.
"Glen and Rhoda have been the greatest supporters of small business," NFIB/Missouri State Director Brad Jones said. "They have worked for pro-small business candidates in their community, they communicate regularly with their elected officials in Jefferson City, and they have represented the Missouri small-business community all the way up to the White House. We can't think of a more deserving couple to receive our Small Business Champion of the Year Award."
In 1987, Glenn and Rhoda joined the NFIB and immediately became active in small-business causes. In 2001 they became members of the NFIB/Missouri Leadership Council and Glenn currently serves as the chairman for the Southeastern Missouri Area Action Council.
"Ever since we joined the NFIB, we have developed a real passion for working, not just for our benefit, but for other small-businesses owners who took their shot at owning and growing a business," Glenn Reeves said. "We have a passion for making a difference, for being involved and we appreciate the opportunities and access NFIB gives us to make things happen. To be recognized for doing something we love is a wonderful honor."
