Who We Are

We are business owners and advocacy organizations that represent Michigan small businesses. Michigan small businesses cannot afford a 6 percent hike in taxes for the essential services they must buy to stay in business. Michigan citizens struggling to survive in a foundering state economy cannot afford to feed Lansing's spending habits.

In the governor's own budget document she makes it clear that business will pay the lion's share of any services tax and those extra costs will be passed on to Michigan citizens in the form of higher costs, lost jobs and business failures.

Small businesses in Michigan provide just over half of all Michigan jobs. Our members are the corner bakery, the local insurance agent, the small manufacturer, farmer, funeral home, computer repair, public accountant and a myriad of other businesses that make up the economic fabric of our state.

A fabric that is stretched to the breaking point with Michigan's lagging economy and high taxes. Enough is enough.

Stop spending, Lansing, and start leading. This tax is a "luxury" Michigan cannot afford.
