Jarod Bona, counsel for the NFIB Legal Foundation, talked on-air with Mark Carbonaro of KION 1460 AM in Salinas, Calif., about the recent California Supreme Court ruling against frivolous lawsuits. In the decision, the Court upheld a defendant's right to bring a malicious prosecution action against the lawyers that are actively involved in representing a frivolous claim. This was an important victory for small businesses that are all too often the victims of frivolous lawsuits.
The NFIB Legal Foundation filed an amicus brief in support of the malicious prosecution claim, stressing how costly and burdensome frivolous lawsuits are to small business.
