House Speaker Glenn Cummings has posted information on the Internet that provides additional background information and arguments concerning the tax reform package a majority of the Taxation Committee voted June 6 to send to the full Legislature.
In addition, at a Monday afternoon caucus of House Democrats, the House co-chair of the Taxation Committee, Rep. John Piotti (Unity), told lawmakers that the estimated Small Business Impact -- net income tax burden reduction for Maine residents who report income from a sole proprietorship, partnership, S-corporation, rentals or farm income -- would equal $96.4 million in tax relief.
