The Honorable Nydia M. Velázquez
Chairwoman
House Small Business Committee
2361 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20510
Dear Chairwoman Velázquez:
On behalf of the National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's largest small business organization, I am writing in support of H.R. 1873, the Small Business Fairness in Contracting Act.
NFIB research indicates that contract bundling, the practice of combining several smaller federal projects into one large package, creates significant obstacles for America's small business owners. When government contract bundling occurs, small businesses are unable to compete because of the size and complexity of federal procurement requirements.
Passage of H.R. 1873 will help ensure greater opportunity for small business owners to compete for prime federal contracts and subcontracts. Clarifying the definition of contract bundling and increasing education and outreach about small business involvement in federal procurement will promote greater competition and opportunity forAmerica's job creators.
I appreciate your leadership on this important issue. I am pleased that H.R. 1873 has significant bipartisan support and I look forward to working with you to pass this important legislation.
Sincerely,
Dan Danner
