Small-Business Group Expands Team, Continuing to Strengthen Presence in Florida
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The National Federation of Independent Business, Florida's leading small-business advocacy group, today announced the addition of Kristen Alexis Ploska as state communications director. Ploska will lead NFIB/Florida's communications efforts, raising awareness of NFIB objectives and initiatives.
"Florida's small businesses are faced with challenges day in and day out, and the addition of Kristen to our team will help ensure they are supported and that their message is heard," said Bill Herrle, NFIB/Florida executive director. "As our team continues to take form, we will identify ways to support small business and bring many more victories to them. We'll also have many great opportunities to foster relationships with our loyal members in addition to continuing to grow membership throughout Florida."
Ploska previously served as press secretary for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, where she successfully expanded their communications efforts, developing numerous outreach initiatives and media campaigns.
"I am excited to join NFIB and the fight for Florida's small businesses, which comprise such a critical part of our economy," said Ploska. "I look forward to working hard alongside the impressive Florida team to advance the concerns of small business and to share with the small-business community our future accomplishments."
Ploska served for several years as reporter, managing editor and finally editor in chief of Florida State University's FSView and Florida Flambeau. She is a graduate of FSU, where she earned her bachelor's degree in political science.
