COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The National Federation of Independent Business/Ohio today announced the election of local businesswoman Nancy Roesner as the vice chair of the group's Akron Area Action Council. Roesner, owner of Copley Feed & Supply Co. in Copley, has been a member of NFIB since 1966. She has helped lead NFIB AAC meetings in order to foster communication between area small-business owners and legislative leaders.

As the newly elected vice chair, Roesner will assist in presiding over the AAC's quarterly meetings, which serve to inform local business owners of critical issues as well as enable them to voice their most pressing concerns.

"As a small-business owner in the Copley area, I realize how vital independent business is to our communities and economy," said Roesner. "I am particularly excited to be able to present other entrepreneurs with this unique opportunity to effectively influence public policy for the growth and development of small business in Northeast Ohio."

"Nancy's efforts are a reflection of what's important to Ohio business owners," said Ty Pine, Legislative Director of NFIB/Ohio. "She will be a catalyst in our efforts to make sure that the needs of small business are being addressed at the Capitol and in Washington, D.C."

The Akron AAC is part of a network of similar grassroots activism groups organized by NFIB/Ohio. Similar groups have been formed in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Marietta, Richland County, Shelby County, Toledo, Warren-Butler Counties, Youngstown, Pickaway-Ross Counties, Lima, Stark County, Erie-Huron Counties and Northwest Ohio including Williams, Fulton, Defiance and Henry Counties.
