NFIB Helps SBA Launch New Resource Site
11/ 21/ 2006

The Small Business Administration launched its new Business.gov Web site, which is designed to be an online compliance tool. The site is a one-stop shop to locate compliance information, government resources and federal forms.

"This site is a valuable first step in helping to reduce the amount of 'government overhead' small businesses spend, allowing more time for them to grow their businesses, employ more people and continue growing the economy," says Andrew Langer, NFIB's manager of regulatory policy.

How the site works: Ultimately, the site's purpose is to help small-business owners easily understand what obligations they have under the law, and also how they can fulfill these obligations in a less costly and time-consuming manner. By offering small-business owners one place where they can determine what regulations apply to them, it can substantially reduce regulatory burdens.

How NFIB helped: NFIB has worked for years as an important adviser and resource for the SBA, and Langer served as the small-business representative for the site's development. Eventually, NFIB's goal is to help the SBA create and implement an interactive site that can be the online resource for locating, completing and filing relevant regulatory paperwork.
