WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 8, 2006Todd Stottlemyer, president and CEO of the National Federation of Independent Business, released the following statement regarding the results of the 2006 midterm election.

"While the composition of the Congress has changed, the obstacles that threaten small-business owners, employees and their families have not. Small businesses still face the lack of affordable health care, the threat of frivolous lawsuits, the burdens of overregulation and a complex tax code. These issues don't have partisan labels, and NFIB looks forward to continuing the fight on behalf of its members on Capitol Hill.

"We're committed to doing our part to work with all lawmakers to find real solutions for America’s job creators. NFIB supported pro-small-business candidates in both parties, and small-business owners will now look to the Congress to get the job done."
