It's not too late to become politically active and make a difference at the ballot box. Small-business owners can do their part by voting for pro–small-business candidates and encouraging employees, friends and family to do the same. Here are just a few of the resources NFIB has to offer small- and independent-business owners who are eager to make a difference in this year's election.
Track Lawmakers
How Congress Voted lists the most important small-business votes taken by federal lawmakers during the 109th Congress. The final version of How Congress Voted is available online at www.NFIB.com/hcv, and a hard copy of the publication will be sent to NFIB members in mid-October. This easy-to-read resource shows you which lawmakers have helped or hurt your business over the past two years--so you'll know who to support at the polls.
Stay Informed
Sign up to receive exclusive e-mail communications and updates from NFIB in the "Get Political" section of NFIB.com/politics, and join thousands of other small- and independent-business owners who are getting the latest national and state political news sent straight to their desktops.
Get Out The Vote
NFIB.com/politics can help inform you about your state's absentee ballot process, early voting options and voter registration deadlines. Post your state's voting guidelines and options in your business as a way to build the small-business vote. Remember: Election Day (Nov. 7) isn't the first day to vote--it's the last! You can also download or request a copy of NFIB's official get-out-the-vote poster (at right) to remind everyone to get to the polls and support small business.
The upcoming elections are too important to sit out. Stand up for small business! Stand up for affordable health care, real and lasting tax relief, ending lawsuit abuse and more fiscal discipline in Washington, D.C. Stand up for the candidates who work on behalf of your small business.
