A recent survey from Cars.com and CareerBuilder.com found that employees think the typical CEO or president of a company drives a luxury car. But the same survey found a different reality: Executives are more likely to drive a Chevy than a Mercedes. Most spend less than $25,000 on their primary vehicle. "While there are differences between what compels a CEO to purchase a particular vehicle and what motivates the general public, the car parked in a CEO's driveway isn't as extravagant as most people believe," says Rosemary Haefner, vice president of human resources at CareerBuilder.com.
