Oakland County Sheriff and U.S. Senate candidate Mike Bouchard recently addressed supporters from the small-business community at L&G Industrial Products in Kentwood, Mich. He is challenging incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow (Mich.), who has a record of opposing small-business issues. In the 109th Congress, Stabenow voted nearly 80 percent of the time against NFIB Key Votes.

"Mike Bouchard's voting record in the state Senate proves that he is willing to stand up for small-business owners on the issues that matter the most, and we strongly believe he will continue to stand up for Michigan's small-business owners when he gets to Washington," said Nevin Groce, NFIB's Leadership Council chairman in Michigan and owner of L&G Industrial Products.

Mike Bouchard supports the elimination of the death tax, simplifying the tax code, the creation of Small-Business Health Plans and legislation that will protect small businesses from frivolous lawsuits. Bouchard has also pledged that his top priorities in Washington will be to restore fiscal responsibility, eliminate wasteful government spending and help to create a business environment that allows American businesses to compete globally.
