NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The National Federation of Independent Business, Tennessee's leading small-business advocacy group, today announced its endorsement of incumbent Bill Ketron in Senate District 13. Ketron has been a stalwart supporter of small business, registering a 100 percent NFIB Voting Record.
"Bill Ketron is an outstanding advocate in Nashville for small-business owners," NFIB/Tennessee State Director Gary Selvy said. "His stance on important free-enterprise issues is significantly helping small businesses in District 13 and across the state. NFIB members know he can be counted on to address their small-business concerns."
"Small businesses are important to the economy of Tennessee, and I will continue to work with the National Federation of Independent Business to ensure that they are protected from harmful legislation that will thwart the ability of small business to grow in Tennessee," Sen. Ketron said. "This endorsement reflects that small businesses recognize my steadfast support for those issues important to these companies."
NFIB's endorsement is a key one for Ketron. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged to Ketron that it will activate its grassroots network on his behalf.
Ketron is secretary of the State and Local Government Committee and a member of Senate Education Committee. Senate District 13 encompasses Lincoln, Marshall and Maury counties, and part of Rutherford County. The general election will be held Nov. 7.
NFIB's political support is based on the candidate's position and record on small-business issues. Bill Ketron's endorsement comes from the NFIB/Tennessee SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB/Tennessee's membership. The endorsement brings the considerable grassroots support of Tennessee's small-business owners to the Bill Ketron campaign.
