NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The National Federation of Independent Business, Tennessee's leading small-business advocacy group, today announced its endorsement of incumbent Don McLeary in Senate District 27. McLeary has been a stalwart supporter of small business, registering a 100 percent NFIB Voting Record.

"Don McLeary is a steadfast friend of small business," NFIB/Tennessee State Director Gary Selvy said. "NFIB appreciates Senator McLeary for his support of small-business owners and their employees, and for addressing their concerns. Don McLeary is a very reliable vote for small business in Nashville, and NFIB will work hard to make sure he's reelected."

"If we are going to create more jobs in West Tennessee, then we have got to continue to ensure that Tennessee remains a pro-business state," Sen. McLeary said. "If we continue to work together with NFIB on fueling small businesses in this state, West Tennessee will have an abundance of higher paying jobs for everyone."

NFIB's endorsement is a key one for McLeary. Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB has pledged to McLeary that it will activate its grassroots network on his behalf.

McLeary is vice chair of the Senate Education Committee. He is a member of both the Commerce, Labor and Agriculture and Environment, Conservation and Tourism committees. Senate District 27 encompasses Madison, Gibson and Carroll counties. The general election will be held Nov. 7.

NFIB's political support is based on the candidate's position and record on small-business issues. Don McLeary's endorsement comes from the NFIB/Tennessee SAFE (Save America's Free Enterprise) Trust, the political action committee for NFIB/Tennessee's membership. The endorsement brings the considerable grassroots support of Tennessee's small-business owners to the Don McLeary campaign.
