NFIB Offers Poster to Encourage Voter Participation
08/29/2006

As a small-business owner, you know how important it is to elect pro-small-business candidates in this year's elections. But laws and regulations don't just affect you--they affect your employees, customers and family members, too. To help spread the word that every vote counts, NFIB is offering a get-out-the-vote poster to download and display in your business.

By placing NFIB's GOTV poster in your front window, at the register, in the break room or in other high-traffic areas, it will serve as a reminder that one of the best ways to make sure the voice of small business heard is to vote on or before Nov. 7. The success of a small business lets its owner offer better prices and higher wages, benefiting the employees, the community and ultimately the economy.

Many pro-small-business candidates are in tight races this year, so every vote is critical. With key issues such as access to affordable health care and death-tax repeal stuck in the Senate, electing small-business allies will have an even greater impact on the future of America's No. 1 job creator.

In addition to displaying the poster at your small business, talk with employees, family members and customers to make sure they are registered to vote and know where to cast their ballots on Election Day. Also remind them that almost every state offers early voting, which can help avoid potentially long lines at polling locations Nov. 7.

For a larger, full-color version of the poster, e-mail political@NFIB.org or call (800) 552-NFIB. To learn more about getting politically active, visit www.NFIB.com/politics.
