Dennis Hastert (Ill.), speaker of the House of Representatives, headlined a roundtable at the Denver Athletic Club supporting congressional candidate Rick O'Donnell (Colo-7th Dist.). The race between O'Donnell and former state Sen. Ed Perlmutter is one of the closest in the country and is drawing considerable attention from national leaders such as Hastert. President Bush recently campaigned and held a fundraiser for O'Donnell, raising more than $600,000 for the campaign.
O'Donnell has consistently stumped for small-business issues, including giving small-business owners the opportunities to gain affordable health care, repealing unfair taxes such as the death tax, and reducing burdensome regulations.
