Chris Wakim |
State Delegate and congressional candidate Chris Wakim recently outlined a five-point plan to help bolster small business in West Virginia and across the country. Wakim is challenging U.S. Rep. Alan Molohan, 1st Dist.-W.Va., in what is one of the most-watched races this election year.
"Small businesses that want to expand are prevented from doing so by burdensome regulations, high compliance costs, disproportionately high taxes, unaffordable health-care options for their employees, and predatory trial lawyers and their frivolous lawsuits," said Wakim.
In his plan, Wakim said he hopes to help reduce the costs of complying with burdensome regulations, which disproportionately impact small businesses. He also would like to help ensure existing tax cuts are made permanent, simplify the tax code, reform the alternative minimum tax, establish Small-Business Health Plans and curb lawsuit abuse.
"Because I believe that every West Virginian should have the opportunity to live, work and raise a family here in West Virginia, the federal government needs to do everything it can to make it easier for small businesses to do what they do best: Create jobs," said Wakim.
