In 2004, the National Federation of Independent Business began to recognize those small-business owners who have distinguished themselves by their steadfast approach to keeping small business strong in America. And this year is no different.

The links below will take you to more information about the champions of small and independent businesses from all across America. These men and women—supported by their families—are leaders in their communities and have worked tirelessly to grow small business in their state and across the country. They believe deeply that small business is essential to America; that free enterprise is essential to the start-up and expansion of small business; that an informed, educated, concerned and involved public is the ultimate safeguard for small business; and that honesty, integrity and respect for human and spiritual values are important in all aspects of life, and are essential to a sustaining work environment.

Regional Small-Business Champions named in each of the five NFIB regions across the United States and were recognized at the NFIB 2006 Small-Business Summit in Washington, D.C., on June 20.
