With its recess over, the Senate is now back in Washington returning to legislative issues, including Small-Business Health Plans.
You have shown tremendous support by contacting your senators while they were home––but don't stop now. The days leading up to the May vote are the most critical, so remind your senators to take this historic opportunity to make health care affordable and accessible for small business.
Until this historic vote happens, NFIB will be focusing all of its advocacy efforts on the Senate’s passage of this vote, and is calling for the help of all NFIB members. In order to reach all senators and inform them of the importance of SBHPs to small-business owners, employees and family members, we need you.
Contact Your Senators Today
It's imperative that all U.S. senators are informed of the necessity of S. 1955. NFIB is making sure the voice of small business is heard across the country with radio spots and other media efforts across the country, but we need you to contact senators directly. We need to get 60 votes in the Senate to invoke cloture and cut off Senate debate so that a Senate floor vote on the actual legislation can occur, so every action counts.
As a member of the largest small-business advocacy group in the United States, your voice is powerful. Write, e-mail or fax your senators urging them to vote “yes” to S. 1955, the Health Insurance Marketplace Modernization and Affordability Act of 2005, creating Small-Business Health Plans. Explain to them that small business has waited long enough to be treated fairly, and deserves access to affordable health care.
