NFIB's new partnership with IWIF means NFIB's Maryland members now have the opportunity to earn dividends on their workers' compensation insurance premiums, based on an NFIB group safety plan. This program will not be sold by NFIB, but through Maryland insurance agents, and will provide NFIB members with potential to earn dividends on their workers' compensation insurance if they maintain a safe workplace during the policy year.
"The NFIB/IWIF Group Safety Plan is designed so small businesses that understand the importance of workplace safety can join together to lower the cost of workers' compensation insurance by potentially earning dividends based on their safety performance," says Ellen Valentino, NFIB/Maryland state director. "Focusing on safe operations not only keeps workers healthy and on the job, but it reduces costs and improves productivity as well."
The program will be administered by IWIF, the leading writer of workers' compensation insurance in Maryland. In business since 1914, IWIF serves more than 31,000 Maryland businesses. NFIB/Maryland members with good safety records in most wholesale, retail, manufacturing, construction and service businesses can qualify for the program.
Dividends for providing a safe workplace
"IWIF not only provides the opportunity for NFIB members in our safety plan to potentially earn dividends in return for providing a safe workplace," Valentino says, "but members also have access to the excellent programs IWIF has developed to help them reduce workplace accidents."
