Years of work by NFIB and our members could pay off in May when the Senate holds its first-ever vote on Small-Business Health Plans. Here in the home stretch, we need your help now more than ever!
Right now, your senators are home on recess until April 21. While they're in their state offices, it's a great time for to say, "Vote 'Yes!' on S. 1955 to make Small-Business Health Plans a reality."
NFIB's grassroots plan
Until the May vote, NFIB will be focusing all of our advocacy efforts entirely on this critical Senate vote in favor of Small-Business Health Plans. NFIB has led the fight for SBHPs for more than 10 years, and we need your help to finish this critical step in the battle.
The stakes are high. We need to get 60 votes in order to invoke cloture and cut off Senate debate so that a Senate floor vote on the actual legislation can occur, so every action counts.
Be Heard. NFIB is making sure the voice of small business is heard loud and clear with radio spots running across the country in support of Small-Business Health Plans.
But your personal voice is even more effective: Contact your senators while they're home and ask them to support SBHPs.
Be Connected. To emphasize the importance of the Senate’s passage of Small-Business Health Plans, NFIB has launched a media campaign in 17 key states. In addition to radio spots, we're also rolling out the following to make sure small business is seen and heard––and can't be ignored:
- print and banner ads
- direct-mail pieces
- online advocacy efforts
- poster distribution
- fax alerts
- in-state meetings with key senators
- calls to action for NFIB members
Be Involved. As a member of the nation’s largest small-business advocacy group, your voice is powerful. While your senators are still at home this week, remind them that 600,000 NFIB members, plus their employees and family members, are counting on the Senate to pass Small-Business Health Plans. Contact your senators now, and tell them Small-Business Health Plans are essential for your business and your employees.
Your continued involvement, from now until the vote is taken, will make the difference.
