What services or goods does your business provide?
Information technology consulting. We specialize in custom design and off-the-shelf software consulting, IT staffing and software skills training.

What first attracted you to NFIB?
Its lobbying strength and effectiveness in fighting for the rights of small business, as well as the consistent dedication and follow-through by NFIB/Michigan State Director Charlie Owen and his team.

How has NFIB helped you as a small-business owner?
NFIB lobbied on our behalf when our business faced unfair contract practices from an incumbent international company and a government contract agency. We offered a better value, price and track record. NFIB helped lead the way, and we successfully secured a small piece of that bid. Subsequently, we were able to grow revenue and work for 10 prosperous years on that project.

What have you done through NFIB to further the cause of small business?
We work to spread the word about the benefits of NFIB and to attract new members. I have also served as Area Action Council chair (2003-2005), Leadership Council chair (2005) and as a Leadership Trust member (2004-2005).

What is the biggest challenge facing your business?
Right now we're facing the problem of outsourcing IT jobs to foreign interests.

What is the best part of being a small-business owner?
We have the freedom to grow with new opportunities in technology while watching our staff develop and grow their skills in support of their careers.
