We publish several articles each year in MyBusiness that stress the importance of being in touch with your customers’ changing needs and desires. During the past year, we've been practicing what we preach.
Through a series of focus groups, formal research, coffee-shop meetings and phone and e-mail conversations with hundreds of the readers of this magazine, we received lots of great ideas and suggestions for ways we can improve a magazine that you tell us you already like.
You won't notice dramatic changes in the design or format of MyBusiness. Rather, in this and coming issues, you will see us continue to enhance our focus of making this a magazine about you. We strive each issue to have real small-business owners featured in this magazine more than any similar publication available. Our experts are you. We take seriously our name, MyBusiness, and want you to view it as MyMagazine with stories featuring experiences and lessons from real people in circumstances similar to yours.
We also discovered that you want more information that explores topics, such as policy, political campaigns and elections, in ways that impact your everyday business lives. And so, in a new section called “My Voice in Washington” (which starts on page 22) and in other parts of the magazine, you'll find more information on how NFIB is working for you and ways you can get involved in the cause of small business.
MyBusiness belongs to the members of NFIB. Indeed, NFIB is your organization. And we want your magazine to reflect your voice through the work of NFIB.
We're still listening and are always seeking ways to improve. Please feel free to e-mail me (rhammock@mybusinessmag.com) with your suggestions for ways we can make this a better magazine for you.
