To help businesses plan for the possibility of an avian influenza, or bird flu, pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Health and Human Sciences have released a preparation checklist. The U.S. Homeland Security Counsel also has released the U.S. government’s preparation and response plan.
In the event of a pandemic, businesses will play a key role in limiting the negative impact on the economy. As a small-business owner, you can start by educating your employees about avian influenza and how to prevent the spread of infection.
