Gov.-elect Tim Kaine appointed Del. Preston Bryant (R-Lynchburg) to the position of secretary of natural resources. Preston is vice president at Hurt and Proffitt, an engineering, survey and planning firm based in Lynchburg.
Del. Bryant has served in the Virginia legislature for 10 years. He was has been a valuable asset to the small-business community on the Commerce & Labor Committee, working to keep health care affordable. Prior to his years in the legislature, he served on the Lynchburg City Council and was a legislative aide for former Speaker Vance Wilkins.
NFIB wishes Del. Bryant much success in his new role.
