Dell/NFIB Award Finalist: Ambreco
07/ 28/ 2005

Good customer service is crucial to success in business. There’s nothing high-tech about helping customers get exactly what they need from your business. But technology can make the process easier and more efficient. Like the rest of the business world, customer service has been transformed by technology.

The finalists in the Dell/NFIB Small Business Excellence in Customer Experience Award understand that coupling the latest innovations with good, old-fashioned people skills can help you and your employees deliver top-notch service.

Ambreco
Belton, Texas
Robert Dominguez Jr., President

Even though it's a small business, Ambreco serves some big clients. The general contractor specializes in military construction and has worked on projects at a military jet hanger, a Space Radar Surveillance Station and even President Bush's Crawford, Texas, ranch.

On being a small-business owner: "The best thing about being in business for yourself is the payback you receive for the hours you put into the job," Dominguez says. "When I worked for a company, I worked long hours toward making it a success. Now those same hours I work are a factor in my own business' success."

On technology: "Technology allows Ambreco to perform a task in the least amount of time with the greatest degree of quality in the final product," says Dominguez, who updates Web sites with daily progress reports for U.S. government clients.
