For the first time in several months, prices at the pump topped off at more than $2 per gallon on Thursday, industry analysts said.
The average price of regular gasoline rose from Wednesday’s price of $1.993 to $2.0003 a gallon, the American Automobile Association said.
This latest price falls just short of May 2004’s high of $2.054 per gallon.
But the price hikes probably won’t stop there. The Energy Information Administration predicts a national monthly average of $2.15 per gallon.
