The key theme in Republican Matt Blunt's defeat of Democrat Claire McCaskill for governor was his promise to improve the state's business climate.
Along those lines, the new governor-elect met with reporters in his Springfield home Wednesday and said a top legislative priority would be to reform the state's workers' compensation program and to bring "regulatory relief" to small businesses as a way to create more jobs.
NFIB/Missouri State Director Brad Jones said he believed Blunt would pay more attention to Missouri’s small businesses.
"It doesn't make it easier," Jones said in the Post-Dispatch. "It just means we've got somebody to listen to us."
