June Lennon watches election returns in Washington, D.C. on Election Day.

June Lennon has full trust in America's free-enterprise system. She also knows that NFIB is the organization to protect the system she trusts so much. That's why Lennon chooses to devote most of her time and efforts to NFIB when it comes to her political activities.

"NFIB has a plan in place for activism," said Lennon, owner of Martin & Lennon CPA, PA (www.martinlennoncpa.com) in Greenville, S.C. "They believe what I believe and have the power to make a difference."

Lennon made her comments at NFIB’s Washington office, where she gathered with other small-business activists to watch election returns Tuesday night and cheer for small-business-friendly candidates.

Her interest in less government and fewer regulations has just as much to do with her clients' businesses as they do Lennon’s own firm. Her thinking: what's good for small business is good for the rest of the country too.

"If it helps business, it helps my clients," said Lennon, whose clients are mostly small businesses.

Right now, the cost of health insurance is the biggest problem facing Lennon and her small-business colleagues. "NFIB has the answer—Small-Business Health Plans. We just can't get the Senate to do anything about it."

Lennon has been active in the 2004 campaigns and also supports the work of the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation, noting that education will build the future of the country.
