Prior to becoming executive vice president of public policy and political, Dan Danner was political senior vice president of federal public policy, and before that he headed the NFIB Education Foundation, the research and education affiliate of the National Federation of Independent business beginning in 1993.

Danner came to the NFIB Education Foundation after serving four years as vice president for federal relations at George Mason University. While at the university, he directed efforts to seek federal, foundation and corporate grants. Danner was also chief of staff to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, a position he attained following two years in the White House Office of Public Liaison where he was deputy director and special assistant to the president.

Prior to joining the White House, Danner was with Armco Inc., a major steel company, for 18 years where he was involved in sales and marketing, as well as state and federal lobbying on issues such as energy, environment, taxes and trade.

A native of Middletown, Ohio, Danner holds an M.B.A. in management from Xavier University and an electrical engineering degree from Purdue.

He and his wife Bekki have three children.
