The event was organized by NFIB/Texas and the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and was a great event for the El Paso Area Action Council.NFIB/Texas is working for you in Washington and in all 50 state capitals -- working to protect your business from higher taxes, frivolous lawsuits, excessive paperwork, and over-regulation. To accomplish our work, we call upon NFIB members like you to help with our legislative efforts in Washington or Austin. Activists make the difference in the work that we do because lawmakers listen more closely to you -- their constituents.
In order to build a strong network of grassroots activists around the country, NFIB has established the Area Action Council (AAC) program. AACs are forming across Texas and provide a great forum to meet other small-business owners, to learn about legislative and political issues, and to prepare to take action on pending legislation.
We want every member of NFIB to be part of the AAC program but, it's no secret, Texas is a huge state and there may not be an AAC in your immediate area. If that's the case, you can still be active in the NFIB/Texas activist corps. Either way, your NFIB experience and our effectiveness as the advocate for small-business, will be enhanced by your participation.
If you are interested in being part of an NFIB AAC in your area -- or serving as part of the activist corps -- please contact Malaise Murphy, Regional Member Activism Coordinator at 512.476.9847.
