NFIBers Dress Up Their Business for Newspaper
05/06/2003
NFIB members Janet and Evelyn Jeter can 'Hob Nob' with the best of them as outlined in a recent Montgomery Advertiser article. The Jeters, who own a local clothing shop of the same name, talked with Advertiser reporter Deidra Lemons in mid-April to discuss the spring holiday season success of their business.
At a time when many employers have been dealing with slowing sales in an uncertain economy, Hob Nob saw a healthy bump in business in the last few weeks as customers turned to them for help in looking their best for Easter Sunday. This caught the attention of the Advertiser.
As pointed out in the article, the Jeters say that customers searching for that perfect look spent upwards of $500 for a complete outfit including a suit, a hat, a purse, shoes and accessories. The owners said that despite people's concerns with the economy, they are still willing to pay the price for what appeals to them.
"This is a good sign for businesses like Hob Nob," said NFIB/Alabama State Director Rosemary Elebash. "The fact that their success is highlighted in the news shows the perseverance of small-business owners to thrive in difficult times."
