Small Business Economic Trends -- February 2003

Small business optimism inched ahead in January. The Index of Small Business Optimism rose 0.7 points to 99.2 (1986=100). The fourth quarter of 2002 was weaker than had been anticipated by NFIB members in earlier surveys.
