Choosing the right health plan for you and your employees can be confusing and difficult. There are so many choices and variables that it can be hard deciding where to begin. To help make your decision easier, NFIB has assembled a range of health-care product offerings designed specifically for small businesses and their employees. And to make things simpler, we've developed the following how-to guide.
1. Where to start: NFIB Savings Accounts
(If you prefer shopping for coverage online, skip to step 3.)
NFIB Health Savings Accounts offers both group and individual health savings accounts and group health reimbursement arrangements.
HSA-compliant health insurance lowers your monthly premium, and allows you to save pre-tax for out of pocket expenses. The premium average savings over traditional health insurance plans is 42 percent--sometimes more. HSAs provide all of the advantages of a 401(k), plus you can take money from the account--tax-free--to pay for qualified health-care expenses. Review how HSAs and HRAs stack up against 401(k)s and flexible spending accounts.
To request a quote or for more information, call (888) 488-6266, send a fax to (877) 488-6266 or click on the NFIB Health Savings Accounts link above right.
Traditional fee-for-service plans, PPO plans, dental, vision, short-term medical and disability coverage options can also be obtained at the site above.

3. If you prefer shopping for health insurance online, any time of day or any way of the week, try eHealthInsurance.
Shop for and purchase individual and/or group insurance for your small business while online. If you have questions once you're online, call (800) 977-8860. (eHealthInsurance does not offer coverage in Hawaii.)
4. If you can't afford to offer your employees traditional health insurance or would like to augment the benefits you offer, consider a Voluntary Benefits Program from AIG American General Life and Accident Insurance Company.
With the Voluntary Benefits Program, you can expand your company's employee benefits without increasing your costs. As an NFIB member, your employees will have access to an array of supplemental health-insurance products, including AGLA's PlusCare supplemental health plan without increasing your costs.
AGLA's Voluntary Benefits are easy to administrate, and employee participation is voluntary. In addition, if used in conjunction with a Section 125 plan, employers can save money on payroll taxes and employees can saved by paying premium with pretax funds.*
