Greenspan: The Man Behind Money, by Justin Martin (Perseus, $28).As chairman of the Federal Reserve, Greenspan is one of the most powerful men in the world. This extensive biography puts a face on the man who has had a central role in the country's longest-ever economic expansion. For example, he toured the country in a jazz band in the 1940s and spent 15 years in the inner circle of controversial author Ayn Rand. There's also great insight into the inner workings of the Federal Reserve. This is an entertaining read that fleshes out the man who has such an influence on the country's economy.
