NFIB Honors Sen. Todd Lamb as Guardian of Small Business

OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 24, 2009 – The National Federation of Independent Business, Oklahoma’s leading small business association, has presented state Sen. Todd Lamb (Edmond) with its 2009 Guardian of Small Business award. He represents the 47th District, which is comprised of part of Oklahoma County.

The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. NFIB/Oklahoma's Leadership Council voted to honor Sen. Lamb for his work in this year’s legislative session.

“Small business is the cornerstone of Oklahoma’s economy, and Todd Lamb has proven time and again that he understands that,” said Benny Vanatta, state director of NFIB/Oklahoma.

“Sen. Lamb has stood by our members on a host of issues, but he played an especially important role on passing legislation to reorganize Oklahoma’s Workers’ Compensation Court system by reducing the number of judges.

“Small business owners are fortunate to have strong defenders such as Todd Lamb in the Legislature,” Vanatta said. “We’re pleased to recognize their efforts by presenting him with the Guardian of Small Business award.”
