Watch Our TV Ads Opposing Cap and Trade

NFIB has partnered with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) to launch a multi-state media campaign opposing the current climate change legislation in Congress, known as the Waxman-Markey bill. The bill - the American Clean Energy and Security Act (H.R. 2454) - passed the House of Representatives in June by a slim margin, and will be up for consideration in the Senate in September. If passed, the bill will have devastating consequences for small businesses. The cap and trade system created by the bill would govern fuel choices available to businesses and consumers, resulting in higher energy costs. In addition the bill would cost about $821 billion, while imposing $846 billion in new energy taxes over the next 10 years. America’s small business community would be unable to cope, leading to more job loss in an already devastated economy.

We’re insisting that the Senate oppose this economically destructive bill. And you can help. Watch the three ads, running in thirteen states and tell your senator to oppose any climate change legislation that will only increase the economic burden already placed on America’s job creators
