NFIB Member Receives Savings with AlaCOMP

During the 15 years that Bob Hyde, owner of Hyde Medical Supply in Oneonta, Ala., purchased his workers' compensation, he only filed one small claim, but his premiums continued to rise every month.  After joining NFIB earlier this year, he decided to switch to AlaCOMP through the NFIB/Alabama Workers' Compensation Program.

"My rates are lower now, so we're saving at least $800 or $900 a year.  In the six months that we've been with AlaCOMP, our rates have stayed the same," he says.

Unlike other workers' compensation programs, AlaCOMP allows qualified employers of 3 or more employees the opportunity to control costs through group self-funding. 

"The rates are so much better and its a group program, so you stand to get dividends at the end of the year for the same amount of coverage," Hyde says.

AlaCOMP covers medical costs, wage replacement and rehabilitation for workers injured on the job, and also provides education to help its members avoid mishaps.
