We will fight to create a fairer property tax system for small business owners.

We will seek a boost in the business personal property tax exemption from its current $50,000 (plus inflation). The tax on such things as machinery, computer equipment, and furniture will be particularly helpful in alleviating some of the pain from high-dollar equipment investments made by restaurants and home builders.

We will continue to fight legislative proposals that seek to place a sales tax on personal and professional services. This effort would add a tax on everything from oil changes and haircuts to accounting and medical services.
